Description
Elea is the open archive of the University of Salerno. It was created as an institutional filing of the doctoral theses discussed in the University, made available in full text on the web for free consultation, in implementation of the principles of the Berlin Declaration and of the Messina Declaration and by resolution of the Academic Senate of 27 April 2010. It has subsequently included some open access scientific journals ("Translational Medicine @ Unisa", "Texts and languages", "Critical measures"), Working Papers and Salernum - Salerno's digital library, a collection of documents and books on the topic or production mainly from Salerno. From 2012 EleA converge on PLEIADI (Portal for the Italian Electronic Scientific Literature on Open Archives and Institutional Deposits); it is present on the major European open access platforms (OpenAire, OpenDOAR, ROAR).
The Salernum - Salerno digital library project is carried out with the collaboration of the Salernitana Society of Homeland History, the Provincial Library of Salerno, the State Archives of Salerno, the management of the magazine "Historical Bulletin of Salerno and Principality Citra", which make available documents in their possession or their intellectual property.
The materials published in the Centennial of the Great War 2014-2018 flow into the national portal 14-18 - Documents and images of the Great War, produced and edited by the Central Institute for the unique catalog of Italian libraries (MIBAC).
From 2017 EleA also adheres to the national project Magazzini Digitali (Digital Renaissance Foundation, National Central Libraries of Florence and Rome) for the permanent conservation of electronic documents published in Italy and disseminated via computer network, in implementation of the legislation on legal deposit (L. 106/2004, Presidential Decree 252/2006).
The project is managed by the University Library Center and the Information Systems Management Office of the University Libraries, with the technical support of the Technology Systems Office
