CDU eSpace is Charles Darwin University's institutional digital repository for publications, research, and teaching materials. Deposited material covers a very wide range of subjects and disciplines.
The repository holds the electronic full text of many peer-reviewed published articles and conference papers, as well as book chapters, theses and other forms of written research from CDU academic staff and postgraduate students. It contains 'grey literature' such as working and discussion papers, technical reports and some preprints. Research datasets, sound and image collections, multimedia, software and other forms of research data are also held. Learning objects and other course-related materials are welcome. Some publications may be citation only because of copyright issues. For depositors anxious about copyright, the policies of the major journal publishers regarding copyright can be checked at SHERPA. Policies of many publishers, including Australian publishers, can also be checked in the OAKList database. Charles Darwin University staff can also provide information.
CDU eSpace provides free, searchable access to openly available CDU research, publications and teaching materials and manages their long-term archiving.
CDU staff and students must log in to deposit materials. Log in with your usual CDU log in username and password. Browsing and searching can be done without logging in.
CDU eSpace is running on Fez software. Fez is part of a wider project entitled eScholarshipUQ, which is the local testbed for the Australian Partnership for Sustainable Repositories. See the Fez Wiki for more information. Fez is a web frontend for Fedora Commons (open source repository software)
