Description
In Winter 2005/2006 Goettingen University has declared in a resolution its extensive support for open access publishing.
The University of Goettingen has officially adopted an OA policy based on the Berlin Declaration, October 2003 (http://oa.mpg.de/lang/en-uk/berlin-prozess/berliner-erklarung) and the Berlin 3 Open Access recommendations in Southhamption, March 2005 (http://www.eprints.org/berlin3/outcomes.html).
In the spirit of these declarations the Goettingen University:
1. Strongly requests the scientific authors of the University to deposit a copy of all published and refereed articles in the e-Scholarship Repository of the University, if there are no legal objections by publishers. The University acknowledges that a significant percentage of publishers support already institutional self-archiving actions by their authors.
2. Encourages and supports scientific authors of the University to publish in Open Access journals.
The Institutional Repository GoeScholar is a new server to be set up in addition to the already existing Institutional Repository (GOEDOC). GoeScholar deposit quality assured works (e.g. by a peer review process) such as articles from miscellanies and journals and also monographs or miscellanies in their entirety.
